Connecting Pakistanis and Africans
2024!
Connecting People with Passion across continents to develop people, to raise awareness and to cultivate friendships through talking
INTERVIEWS
Rehan School Students are interviewing people as in the section below, and are keen to do more interviews. One step forward is to connect Africans to the students in Pakistan for interviews.
We are proposing to interview teachers of English in Africa first, and students later on.
We have 4 teachers at the Innovation School in Uganda waiting for interviews after Easter holidays
CHAT
Another further step after those interviews, is to set up a weekly discussion forum in zoom where people can bond through regular informal chat, in small groups of the same people each week. This we believe will lead to an interesting exchange of views, and some friendships over time :-).

THE BIG PICTURE
As Thomas Power said at the launch of Vienna Hub in 2005, "...if you want to increase social capital, just go around and talk to everyone in the ( now virtual ) room."
Uzma Hafeez says "I am Uzma Hafeez. I am a Software Engineer, freelancer and Online Teacher. My mission is to empower 1 million people to earn $500 per month using their phones and computers. I believe that people should have the opportunity to take control of their financial futures and earn a fair and sustainable income."
Mohamed Anis says "We are a social impact enterprise re-skilling thousands of refugees into digital professionals... Having scaled from 5 to 1400 over the last 3 years, We are now on a mission to scale to 1 million refugee graduates by 2032.
The big picture at Vienna Hub is to have 1 million Africans (many trained by StepUpOne) connecting weekly for 25 minutes to 1 million Pakistanis (many trained by Uzma) in small breakout rooms of 6 people, 2 Africans, 2 Pakistanis and 2 Native English speakers. Growing to the even Bigger Picture of 10 million of each meeting weekly at the "water cooler" :-)

This sort of interview started u s on this journey.
Interviews are great, and we wish to take this one stage firther, by holding weekly follow on sessions where small groups bond with each other through regular meetings online.
Challenges at both ends include access to the internet, which is in many places currently not the same as in Vienna :-)
